Comets come from the "Oort Cloud." The Oort Cloud is a cloud further from Pluto that comets come out of. Comets are created by ice and dust and they go through the solar system and when they reach the sun the comet produces a gas which is called outgassing.

Hope this helps!

Answer: They primarily originate from two regions: the Kuiper Belt, and the Oort Cloud

Explanation: A comet is a celestial body consisting mainly of ice, dust and gas in a (usually very eccentric) orbit around the Sun and having a "tail" of matter blown back from it by the solar wind as it approaches the Sun. Comets generally are said to have two sources: the Oort Cloud which begets long-period comets and the Kuiper belt which begets short-period comets. Comets spend most of their lives in the distant reaches of the solar system and far away from the sun.
