Forty eight slips of paper are numbered 1 through 48 and are distributed among a group of people. A random number generator is used to select a single number between 1 and 48, inclusively.

A fair decision is made using this process.

How many people could be in this group?

5

8

9

10

Answer:

Option b is right

Explanation:

Given that Forty eight slips of paper are numbered 1 through 48 and are distributed among a group of people. A random number generator is used to select a single number between 1 and 48, inclusively.

Obviously no of people in the group should be a factor of 48 then only equal distribution of slips are possible

Out of the numbers given, 5, 9 and 10 are not factors of 48.

Hence we find that only 8 is the factor and hence 8 people could be in this group.

Option b)
