Answer: The number of small vehicles were washed 60 in total.

Explanation:

Let the number of small vehicles be 'x'.

Let the number of large vehicles be 'y'.

Cost charged for small vehicle = $5.00

Cost charged for larger vehicle = $10.00

Total amount collected at a car wash fundraiser = $800

According to question,

5x+10y=\$800\\\\x+2y=\$160

Since the number of larger vehicles washed = 50

That means, y = 50.

So, we put the value of y in the above equation, to get the number of small vehicles were washed in total.

x+2y=160\\\\x+2* 50=160\\\\x+100=160\\\\x=160-100\\\\x=60

Hence, the number of small vehicles were washed 60 in total.
