Brian s orchard supplies apples to markets in albany. the apples can be packed into large bag that holds 9 apples or a small bag that holds 6 apples.

the orchard needs to fill an order for 140 apples using both large and small bags. what is the least number of each type of bag that could be used if each bag is completely filled?​

14 times 9=126

6 times 2= 12

126+12= 138, unfortunately that’s as high as we can could considering how much the bags can carry. So we would have to get 14 large bags and 3 small bags but one of the small bags would have only 2 apples. If we were only using large bags we would need 16 large bags but I believe one would not be used fully or it’s just extra. If we were using only small bags we would need 24 of them and the last one would not be full completely.
