A writer wants to make the following claim:

We need to spend more time reading.

Which answer makes the most logical and precise counterclaim?

a Spending time reading promotes clearer thinking and helps people make better decisions in all areas of life.
b Every student of the world should spend time reading a book at least once a week, but more often if possible.
c Some reading material can be dry and boring, and so it is not important to read books merely because someone said to.
d Reading regularly is good for the mind, but one must be careful not to neglect daily tasks when engrossed in a book.

Counter claims are opposite. So I would say D

The answer is probably D because a counter claim is something that is the opposite than the first claim. So the counter claim would be that it is good but no good to read more. Hope this helps.
