Answer: d) 2.5

Explanation:

The mean is 16 so it has a z-score is 0

The standard deviation is 4 so:

  • z-score of 1 is: 16 + 4 = 20
  • z-score of 2 is: 20 + 4 = 24
  • z-score of 3 is: 24 + 4 = 28

Notice that 26 is between the z-scores of 2 and 3 = 2.5

Algebraically:
(26-16)/(4)=(10)/(4)=2.5
