Answer:

A. Merchants and Artisans

Step-by-step explanation:

The Aztecs, as all other civilizations, had their own social structure, or hierarchy. There were five hierarchical levels in the Aztec society. On top was the emperor, having the biggest power and influence. In the second level were the nobles, which had lot of power and big reputation, and they were only subjugated to the emperor. The warriors and priest were in the third level, thus in the middle, having a very special role in the Aztec society, but having limited power. The merchants and artisans were in the fourth level. They were the ones that were doing all the trade and controlled the market, thus they were crucial for the economy. In the last, fifth level were the farmers and laborers. Despite being the ones that provided food for everyone else and they were the ones that were doing the dirty work, they were not respected and were subjugated to everyone else in the society.
