Is 1, 4, 9, and 16 a geometric sequence

It is not a geometric sequence because you cannot multiply.

This is an arithmetic sequence because you can add.

For example:

1,4 ( you use the number 3 to add to get number 4.

4,9 ( you use the number 5 to add to get 9).

In other words for this arithmetic squence you use only use odd numbers .
