A triangle has sides with lengths of 67 centimeters, 75 centimeters, and 94 centimeters. Is it a right triangle?

A right triangle satisfies the equation

a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c is the longes side,

in this case, using 67 and 75 as a and b, c would have to equal approx. 100.5

No, it is not.

My guess is that it is not, but that is just a wild guess. We can test it out using the Pythagorean theorem.

a = 67

b = 75

c = 94 I can tell you it is not. One of a or b has to be an even number.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

67^2+75^2 =? 94^2

4489 + 5625 =? 8836

10114 does not equal 8836
