Answer:

Montag appeared with a book in his hand and when he just did it, Mrs Bowles thought it was a bad idea. Montag said it was nothing important, it was just poetry and she said she hated poetry.

But Mrs Phelps prompted Montag to read the poem so he did it slowly in a loud and clear way. As soon as he finished reading, Mrs Phelps was crying and Mrs Bowles burst into rage. He accused Montag that he was a bad person and that she knew something like this would happen.

She said that poetry only brought tears, illness and terrible feelings.

Full of hatred and fury, she went home, slamming the doors of the house and leaving Montag alone.
