I'm writing a paper on the benefits of learning a second language. I'd like to introduce it with the fact that a lot of people don't know the names of the holders of different political titles (using statistics). I'm aware that not knowing different political figures isn't going to kill you, but it is somewhat concerning when many people don't know who all runs the country. I'd like to somehow display that not knowing certain things is bad so that I can go on to explain how learning a second language could help. Any tips? Should I give up and just start the paper without acknowledging an issue? Thank you

Hi!

I think you should begin with foreign words, that are common in that language.

For example,

Bonjour, Merci, Forlor.

then you could go on to say... If you don't know these basic words, you'd probably have trouble in another country.

You get the gist?

Hope this helps fam!
