In this diagram PA is tangent of circle and PB is secant of circle

since relation between secant and tangent is mention in figure-1

so, we have length of tangent AP = 6 and PE= 4

Now, put the given values in formula C² = E . ( A + E )

6² = 4 . ( A + 4 )

36 = 4 . A + 16

subtract 16 from both sides in above expression,

36 - 16 = 4 . A + 16 - 16

20 = 4A

divide both the sides by 4 in above expression,

5 = A

hence , length of BE is 5

Therefore, correct option is c) 5
