Social media can cover or spread the violation of human rights. 1) being it can take something horrible and un-humanized and normalize it like it’s just a regular day in the U.S . 2) it can can spread it by having pictures up for the world to see .

Social media has not played a large role in the violation of human rights. However, it has been involved in it in some instances. Moreover, this is likely to grow due to the growing importance that social media has on our lives nowadays. When social media has been involved in human rights violations, its role has usually been negative. For example, IS.IS has been able to infiltrate Face.book significantly. Videos have been shared where IS.IS militants have committed human rights violations. Moreover, IS.IS has often recruited people through this platform, convincing them afterwards of violating human rights in the Middle East and abroad.
