f^(-1)(x) = x - 1

Explanation:

Let y = f(x), that is

y = x + 1

Rearrange making x the subject

Subtract 1 from both sides

y - 1 = x ( change y back into terms of x for inverse )

x = y - 1, hence


f^(-1)(x) = x - 1
