Raymond has $50.He spent 9.25 per comic book including tax on three comics.He needs to save $12.00 for admission to the next comic book fest. If plastic book covers are 1.15 each what is the maximum number of plastic book covers he can buy?

Explanation:

First he spends 9,25 x 3 = 27.75 dollars on comic books.

Then he needs to save 12 dollars for the comic book fest.

This means he has 50 - 27.75 - 12 = 10,25 dollars left for plastic book covers.

Each plastic book cover is 1.15 dollars so he can buy 10.25 ÷ 1.15 = 8,91 plastic book covers.

Round it down to the nearest whole number and you get at most 8.
