Let

we know that

The perimeter of rectangle is

so


36=2(L+W)


18=(L+W) ----> equation A


L=2W -----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A


18=(2W+W)

solve for W


18=3W


W=18/3=6\ ft

Find the value of L


L=2(6)=12\ ft

A=LW
