Answer:

The two numbers are 24 and 16.

Explanation:

My way of figuring this out was a little unorthodox, but it works nonetheless. So the ratio of 3:2 has a proportionality of 1.5.

Half of 40 is 20

25 an 15 has a proportionality of `1.6 (25/15 = 1.666666)

After that I tried 24 and 16. Not only do they add up to 40, but they had a proportionality of 1.5 as well, the same as the 3:2 ratio. This means that's the correct numbers!

I know I explained it a little strangely, but I hope I could help!
