Answer:

42 ÷ 2 × (11 - 8) = 63

Explanation:

When solving a problem like this you have to go in PEMDAS order.

First is Parentheses :

42 ÷ 2 × (11 - 8)

42 ÷ 2 × ( 3 )

Second is Exponents(here is none) :

42 ÷ 2 × ( 3 )

Next is Multiplication and Division, In this problem it would be division first. These 2 always go in left to right order which ever come first you do that first. :

42 ÷ 2 × ( 3 )

21 × ( 3 )

63

The last one is addition and subtraction which is the same as multiplication and division. (In this case there is none)

You are finished

Hope this helped

Answer:

63

Explanation:

Follow PEMDAS, as well as the left -> right rule.

Note that PEMDAS is the order of operations in which you should solve, and =

Parenthesis

Exponents (& roots)

Multiplication

Division

Addition

Subtraction.

First, look at the problem. The problem gives you:

42 ÷ 2 x (11 - 8)

Using PEMDAS, first, solve the parenthesis:

11 - 8 = 3

Next, use the left -> right rule to solve the rest.

42 ÷ 2 x 3

(42 ÷ 2) x 3

(21) x 3 = 63

63 is your answer.
