This means that if the speed does not lie in the range than it is outside it's full speed range.

Hence, if the speed of the elevator is less than 116 feet per minute and greater than 124 feet per minute then it lies outside it's full speed range.

This means that if x represent the speed of the elevator then, the value of x for which it is going outside it's range is:
