L = \pi * r * s\\ L = \pi * r * \sqrt{r^(2) + h^(2) }

Since we don't have the side measurement, but we have the base radius and the height, we'll use the second formula.


L = \pi * r * \sqrt{r^(2) + h^(2) } = \pi * 6 * \sqrt[2]{6^(2) + 8^(2) }  =  \pi * 6 * \sqrt[2]{100 }  =  \pi * 6 * 10 = 60\pi

The area of that cone is 60 π square inches.
