Parallelogram ABCD is reflected over the y-axis, followed by a reflection over the x-axis, and then rotated 180 degrees about the origin. What is the location of point A after the transformations are complete?

Answer:

(-5,1)

Explanation:

Pay attention to one point.

Point A starts as (-5,1).

Then you reflect just that point over the y-axis making it a Positive point. ((5,1))

Then you reflect just that point over the x-axis making it Positive, negative point ((5,-1))

Last, you rotate it 180 degrees that mapping rule is (x,y) becomes (-x,-y).

So (5,-1) has to be negitive on both sides. BUT the one is already negitive and a - and a - equals a +.

So it becomes (-5,1)
