Start at 2 that’s the b in y= mx + b. The (+2) is the y intercept. So you go to positive 2 on the graph and plot a point. After that, you go up 1 and over 3. You also go to the negative and go -1 and over 3 to the left. You go until it forms a line.

Explanation:

We need to find two points to graph the line. The easiest two points to find are the x-intercept and y-intercept.

To find the y-intercept, we just need to replace
x with 0 and simplify:

y=-(1)/(3)x+2

y=-(1)/(3) (0)+2

y=2

The y-intercept is the point (0, 2)

To find the x-intercept, we just need to replace
y with 0 and solve for
x:

y=-(1)/(3)x+2

0=-(1)/(3)x+2

-(1)/(3) x=-2

x=6

The x-intercept is the point (6, 0)

Now we just need to place our two points in the plane and join them with a line.
