Answer:

1. 58.5 cm^2

2. 282.5 cm^2

3. A = 5/2 bh

Explanation:

The area of 1 triangle is

A = 1/2 b*h

A = 1/2 (13) * 9

A = 117/2

A =58.5 in^2

We have 5 triangles in the pentagon

Area of the pentagon is 5 times the area of the triangle

Apentagon = 5 * A triangle

A = 5 * 117/2

A = 585/2

A =282.5 in^2

To find the area

A = 5* (1/2 b*h)

A = 5/2 bh

where b is the side length of the pentagon and h is the distance from the center of the side to the center of the pentagon
