Answer:

A. DNA

Step-by-step explanation:

  • DNA is a nucleic acid that carries the genetic information of an organism. It is made up of nucleotide bases.
  • A gene is a segment of DNA which codes for a specific protein. This occurs through the process of transcription and translation. Transcription occurs when a section of DNA is transcribed to messenger RNA. During transcription information is passed from DNA to mRNA.
  • Then during translation the messenger RNA which contains the genetic code, is translated to amino acids which joins together to form polysaccharide and eventually proteins.
