When you fall and scrape yourself your skim bunches up next to the would. Have you ever scraped yourself and then there is the white skin hanging of? Well that is basically it. I know its not like the guy who wrote a whole essay on it bellow but...hope this helps!

Answer: When you fall and scrape yourself, your skin is scraped away (kind of like when you peel off dead skin) allowing blood to drip out. This blood then scabs over and allows the healing process to begin. Skin is one of the most quick growing cell types in your body, so the healing process is usually pretty quick.
