The dimensions of the triangle are decreased to 75% Of there original measurements what is the area of the new triangle ?

Area of the new triangle = 0.28125ab square units.

Explanation:

Take an example of a right-angled triangle with sides a, b and c.

Where a is the height and b is the base and c is the hypotenuse.

Area of the original triangle is given by:
(1)/(2) × base × height

In our case, area =
(1)/(2) × a × b

After the dimensions of our triangle have been decreased to 75%, new area becomes:


(1)/(2) × 0.75a × 0.75b = 0.28125ab square units.
