2 to 5 (12:30)

Explanation:

So we now that there are 12 fifth graders and 18 sixth graders.

When we add them up, we get 30, and that's the whole population of the class.

So when we make the ratio, it's 12 to 30 (12:30)

So now, we simplify it by dividing both sides by 6, making 2 to 5 (2:5).
