The Market Revolution really did change the way the North's economy worked. In a strange way, it had less of an effect on the South. As Whitney's cotton gin changed the main crop in the South, the Market Revolution did the same. It also made sure that slavery would grow because cotton could spread all over the South.

A change from a culture of making to a culture of buying. What were the three most important things that caused the market to change? Fast improvements in transportation and communication, the making of products for a mass market, and the use of inventions and innovations to make products for a mass market. Workers' lives were changed by the market revolution because it gave them jobs. It led them to work that was not as good, though. As soon as they started working a certain number of hours every week, their lives started going nonstop. The number of immigrants also grew.
