The relationship below explains a type of symbiosis. Read the paragraph, and then answer the questions that follow.

A clown fish lives in and around the sea anemone. The clown fish has a protective mucous coating, which prevents it from being stung by the sea anemone. Since the clown fish can not be harmed by the anemone, it gains protection by living in and around the anemone. The clown fish will in return ward off any predators of the anemone to protect it's home.

B. What type of symbiosis is this example? Explain why.

1) symbiosis is a mutually beneficial relationship between two things.

2) the symbiosis in this example shows how the sea anemone provides the clown fish with protection and in return the clown fish helps the anemone by warding off any predators
