What is the probability of rolling a number less than 3, and then rolling a prime number? 1/3 1/2 1/36 1/6

First off, we know there are 6 numbers in a die, so if we want to get a number less than 3, it has the probability of 2/6, which is the same as 1/3.

Then, the prime numbers on a die are 2, 3 and 5, which gives us a probability of 3/6, or 1/2.

Then, we multiply both fractions, like so:


(1)/(3) * (1)/(2) = (1)/(6)

That means the answer is 1/6.
