On October 1, 1949, the Chinese Communists solemnly proclaimed the People's Republic of China, from this moment on, the existence of modern PRC begins. By the spring of 1950, the Communists already controlled the entire territory of the country, except for the island of Taiwan.

Following the first visit of Mao Zedong to the USSR, not only important military-political agreements were signed, but also a new agreement on granting China a loan of one billion two hundred thousand Soviet rubles. Under this loan agreement, the PRC government received the right to use the loan amount in equal parts for five years, starting January 1, 1950, to pay for deliveries from the USSR of industrial equipment and materials necessary for the development of the Chinese economy. The Chinese government pledged to repay the loan for ten years with annual payments from December 31, 1954, and December 31, 1963, with supplies of Chinese raw materials, gold and US dollars.

That is just a small example, although the USSR has impacted the Chinese government significantly to the point where the country still has communist qualities they choose to follow and keep.
