Each person would run .75 miles.

This is because..

If there are 4 people and 3 miles have to be divided amongst them equally then you would divide the miles (3) by the people (4) which would give you .75. To check your answer revers the problem and do .75 by 4 people to get 3.

Answer:

Each person covers a distance of 0.75 miles

Explanation:

According to the question, the relay race was ran by 4 individuals. And the 4 of them covers a total distance of 3 miles. The question also enunciated that each person covers equal distance.

number of people than ran the race = 4 people

Total miles covered = 3 miles

If 4 people covers a distance of 3 miles

1 person will cover how many miles

cross multiply

number of miles covered by 1 person = 3/4

number of miles covered by 1 person = 0.75 miles

Since every of them covers equal distance, each of them covers a distance of 0.75 miles

Each person covers a distance of 0.75 miles
