Emily is making a meal for her family. She uses coconut milk for the dessert she is making.

The coconut milk is in a can but she doesn’t know how much the can holds.

The can is 12 cm high and the diameter is 8 cm.

Using the formula V = π r2 h, work out how much coconut milk is in the can.

Use 3 as a value for π.

Answer:

Volume = 576 cm³

Explanation:

Volume of a cylinder = π×r²×h

Based of contextual knowledge, we know that the radius is 4 cm, the height is 12 cm and the value of π is 3

Now we substitute the values into the cylinder formula

Volume = π×r²×h

Volume = 3 × 4²× 12

Volume = 576 cm³
