Answer: a. (x +1) b. (x + 2) d. (x - 3)

Explanation:

x³ - 2x² - 5x + 6 --> possible ration roots are 1, 2, 3, 6

Try x = -1 using synthetic division --> factor (x + 1)

1 | 1 -2 -5 6

| ↓ 1 -1 -6

1 -1 -6 0 ← Remainder is 0 so x + 1 is a factor

Now factor the reduced polynomial

x² -x -6

= (x + 2)(x - 3)

So, the three factors are: (x + 1)(x + 2)(x - 3)
