The lateral area of the cone
= 400 \pi cm squared.

The lateral surface area of cone is given by :-


L.S.A.=\pi rl, where r is the radius and l is the slant height of the cone.

For r=10 and L.S.A.
= 400 \pi , we have


400\pi=\pi(10)l\\\\\Rightarrow\ l=(400)/(10)=40

Hence, the slant height of the cone is 40 cm.
