Answer:

Mary originally bought the phone at $247

Explanation:

Basically Mary had bought the phone 24% lesser than $325,

So to reduce 325$ by 24% we should do 100% - 24% = 76%,

So the answer is 76/100 × 325 So we should do 76/100 then multiply it by 325,

So,

76/100 = 0.76

Multiply it,

0.76 * 325 = 247

Answer:

Mary bought the phone for 1350

Explanation:

The price mary bought the phone shall 100%

$325 is 24% of the price which she bought it.

So if $325 is equal to 24% , what shall 100 percent represent?

In order to find the answer to this, we cross multiply as follows;

24% = $325

100% = ?

cross multiply the above to get,

( 325 * 100 ) / 24

The abouve gives us the answer 1350

So 1350 is the original buying price of the phone.
