First, you identify what method you need to use for solving this problem. I used Pemdas. Pemdas is the steps to take for most equations. Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction.

You do the parenthesis part of the equation first. 25-7= 18.

Next, following the order of Pemdas, you multiply the answer you just got from the parenthesis by 2. 18x2= 36.

Then, you add 4 to the answer to the last step. 36+4= 40.

Lastly, you add 2 to the answer from the last step. 40+2= 42.
