Answer:

A. Unlike Africans, Europeans wanted the adult males for hard labor.

Step-by-step explanation:

The African slave trade was one of the practices carried out with slaves obtained in Africa, although the general use of the expression restricts geographical location to sub-Saharan Africa or "black Africa", identifying as "blacks" the subjects of such slave trade. In spite of being such a denomination a stereotype that does not really indicate any scientifically established anthropological category, the identification of its physical features, especially of dark skin, was the basis of its racial discrimination.

In the African continent, different systems of slavery in multiple places were common from the old age. In some African societies, enslaved people could also become non-subscribers and fully integrated into society. In others, they were treated worse. When the Arab slave trade and the Atlantic slave trade began, the local slave systems changed and came to supply captives to the slave markets of other continents.
