Answer:

The correct answer is second option 58 ft

Explanation:

From the figure we can see that a shaded region and non shaded region

The region which are not shaded can be divided into two rectangles.

The dimensions are,

14 x 4 and 11 x 6 [(15 - 4) x 6 ]

To find the perimeter of no shaded region

Perimeter = 4 + 14 + 15 + 6 + (15 - 4) + (14 - 6)

= 4 + 14 + 15 + 6 + 9 + 11 + 8 = 58 ft

Therefore the perimeter of non shaded region = 58 ft

The correct answer is second option 58 ft

Answer: second option.

Explanation:

The region that is not shaded is obtained by subtracting the entire region (shaded+not shaded) and the the shaded region.

The perimeter of the entire figure is:

P_1=2(14ft)+15(ft)\\P_1=58ft

P_1=14ft+4ft+l1+w1+6ft+15\\P_1=l1+w1+39ft

The perimeter for the not shaded region can be calculated as following:

P_2=14ft+4ft+w1+l1+6ft+15ft\\P_2=l1+w1+39

As you can see:

P_1=P_2

Therefore, the answer is: 58 ft.
