Set up a proportion. If bass to catfish is 10 : 7, it must be equal to 425 : x.

7/10 = x/425 → cross multiply and solve → 10x = 7 * 425 → 10x = 2975 → x = 297.5 which is rounded to 298. There are approximately 298 catfish.
