ANSWER:

okay so they were 100 hyenas and 20 died

so that makes it 100 - 20 = 80 , so there was 80 hyenas when 20 died

then 35 were born so 80 + 35 = 115

than 5 migrated INTO the population meaning 115 + 5 = 120

At the end of the year, there were 120 hyenas in the population.
