Pls help ASAP!!!!

The temperature in degrees Celsius (C) can be converted to degrees Fahrenheit (F) using the formula F(C)= 9/5 C+k, where k is a constant. Find k, if to C=−40ºC corresponds F=−40ºF.

Answer:

k = 32

Explanation:

To get the value of k from expression:

F(C) = (9)/(5)C +k

for F = -40 and C = -40, then:

-40 = (9)/(5)(-40)+k

k =-40+(9)/(5).40

k = 72 - 40

k = 32

therefore, k should be 32 to get these answers.

Answer: 32

Explanation:

F(C)=(9)/(5)C+k\\\\-40=(9)/(5)(-40)+k\\\\-40=9(-8)+k\\\\-40=-72+k\\\\.\quad32=k
