Earthquake-proof structures are new-generation structures that are more resistant towards earthquakes than older models. There are many types of improvements being made to modern structures, from structural changes such as vibrational control structures (sometimes referred to as “seismically retrofitted structures”) and coupled steel-plate walls to earthquake shelters. New improvements focus on creating building materials that are a) cost-effective, b) strong in times of no earthquake activity but also flexible during times of earthquake activity, and c) aesthetically pleasing to the inhabitants.
Hope this helps!
