The event that kickstarted the book was Donovan whacking the Atlas statue, causing the Earth to roll and crash into his school's gymnasium. Multiple conflicts and scenes occurred afterwards, including Donovan needing to 'retake' the admissions test into the Academy, the school dance, the side story of Donovan's sister's pregnancy, and the climax of all climaxes, the Robotics meet.
