Why were segregation laws popular in the late 19th century?

They gave southerners a feeling of pride after losing the war.

They removed restrictions on the voting rights of former slaves.

They maintained the racist social order of the pre-Civil War era.

They were financially advantageous to white farmers.

In my opinion, I think either the racist social order or financially advantageous is it, but i think racial social order is the correct answer, as the restrictions on voting rights doesnt make sense, nor does them feeling pride from losing the war.
