Explanation:

Factor the equation, which gives you (y+3)(y+4)=0

Then, all you do is find the values that give the equation an answer of 0.

Since anything times 0 is 0, all you have to do is make one of the (y+x) values equal 0.

Since -3 and -4 added to 3 and 4 make 0 the answers are -3 and -4.
