Answer:

Factoring

Explanation:

We have the function
x ^ 2 + 5x-6 = 0

To factor this expression we must look for two numbers a and b that when adding them give as a result 5 and multiplying them give as a result -6

Then the factorization will have the form

(x + a)(x + b)

You can verify that:

a = 6\\b = -1\\6(- 1) = -6\\6 -1 = 5

So:

x ^ 2 + 5x-6 = (x + 6)(x-1) = 0

So:

The solutions are:

x = -6\\x = 1
