8x-5(x-1)=4(x+2)

Distribute -5 and 4

8x-5x+5=4x+8

Now combine like terms

8x-5x= 3x

3x+5=4x+8

Subtract 3x from both sides

5=x+8

Subtract 8

-3=x

You can do symmetric property a=b then b=a

So the answer is

X=-3
