Folding or folding, is a deformation of rocks, generally sedimentary, in which elements of a horizontal nature, such as strata or planes of schistosity (in the case of metamorphic rocks), are curved forming elongated undulations and of more or less directions parallel to each other.

Fold in rocks are rocks that look like waves almost and are made by sediments that got on flat horizontal sheets a long time ago (hope this helps)
