Time required T(x) = 4x+2

= 4(18)+2

= 72 +2

= 74 hrs

Amount paid S(T) = 15 T

= 15 ( 74) = $ 1110

b) Since S is given, S= $3,030

S(T)= 15 (T)

3030 /15= T

202 hrs= T

Now, we can find x:

T(x) = 4(x) +2

202 = 4x + 2

202-2 = 4x

200 / 4 =x

50 = x

so, worker produces 50 units.
